About the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance
NEEA, a nonprofit based in the Northwest, is an energy efficiency alliance consisting of 11 Northwest utilities, the Energy Trust of Oregon and the Bonneville Power Administration on behalf of more than 130 Northwest public utilities. NEEA delivers energy efficiency savings and services across a diverse region through its market transformation initiatives. Under the banner of NEEA the region has saved 300 aMW, the equivalent to powering more than 200,000 homes for a year.
At roughly 4,700 aMW per year, the industrial sector is the largest electrical energy consumer in the Northwest. Energy management represents a significant opportunity for diverse Northwest manufacturing industries to achieve and maintain a competitive advantage in today’s global market place. NEEA’s Continuous Energy Improvement (CEI) energy management system institutionalizes a systemic, organization-wide approach to energy efficiency that enables manufacturers to manage energy as a controllable expense.
