The Law of Process Management
Process management comprises five steps that culminate in the improvement step. The quality of each step relies on the integrity of the steps preceding it. Through rigorous, sequential attention to design, documentation, then standardization and control, you’re equipped to improve the entire process by re-evaluating and improving each step. The law of process management states that:
- You cannot improve what you don’t control.
- You cannot control what you haven’t standardized.
- You cannot standardize what you haven’t documented.
- You cannot document what you haven’t designed.
